Attention to all those interested in wrestling for Cartersville High School this season…
Saturday, October 22, 2016 we will host the Hydration Testing that is required by the Georgia High School Association in order for you to compete in the sport of wrestling during the 2016-2017 season. Cartersville High School Students will be tested @ 9:00 AM in the Storm Center. You will need to meet in “The Cave” (wrestling practice room) in the Storm Center @ 8:45 AM Saturday morning. You will need to bring $10.00 to pay for the hydration testing. If you are unable to pay the $10.00, please contact Coach Edwards or Coach Gayton BEFORE testing to make arrangements so you can still be tested. If you do not get tested, you CANNOT compete in ANY matches (varsity or junior varsity). If you are unable to attend testing this Saturday, you can still attend another hydration testing, but you will need to speak with Coach Edwards or Coach Gayton in order to find out where the next testing site will be and when. You will have to travel on your own to another school in order to be tested.
There will be a Pre-Season Party on Friday October 23, 2016 starting @ 3:30 PM running through 9:00 PM in “The Cave”. Coach Gayton will meet all interested students and we will discuss all forms that need to be turned in before practice on Monday and verify who has turned in which forms and what everyone still needs to turn in.
Students are required to have turned in the following forms: Current Physical Examination Form, Athletic Medical Release Form, 2016 Concussion Form, 2016 Drug Testing Consent Form. These forms are available on the www.canesathletics.com homepage under the “FORMS” tab. If you need them printed, See Coach Gayton or Coach Putnam and we will get you printed copies to get filled out. You CANNOT participate in practice or competition if these forms are not turned in and completely filled out.
We will be playing games and watching a movie while drinking lots of water to make sure we will pass the hydration test on Saturday 10/22/2016 @ 9:00 PM. Students will need to be picked up at 9:00 PM. This is entirely a voluntary activity for those interested in wrestling, but a great opportunity to make sure you have everything taken care of that you need in order to have a great wrestling season. If you have any questions you can contact Coach Edwards or Coach Gayton.
