Canes Get Region Win over Sandy Creek
Canes pull away from Sandy Creek in the 4th inning and prevail for an 8-3 Region win.
Canes had taken early lead in the first inning when Devin Warner homered with one out during the first inning.
Sandy Creek knotted the game up at two in the bottom of the third inning when Demitius Worthy singled off a 2-2 count in the third inning.
The game was tied at two with the Hurricanes Varsity batting in the top of the fourth. The Canes took back the lead for good with five runs in the fourth inning. During the fourth Vince Bartolomei walked Jacob Fowler to drive in a run, Spencer Dickey singled off of Bartolomei, driving in one run, and Bartolomei then walked Mason Barnett to drive in another Cane run. The Canes went on to score 2 more runs in the inning taking a 7-2 lead.
Canes then added another run in the 6th inning before closing out Sandy Creek with an 8-3 Final Score.
Cartersville had 11 hits in the game. Devin Warner and Spencer Dickey each went 3 for 4 at the plate and Noah Daniel also collected multiple hits for The Canes. Cartersville didn’t commit any errors in the field on the night.
Canes are now 14-5 overall on the year and 5-2 in Region play.
