Cartersville duo win final fishing tourney of season

Cartersville High juniors Chandler Shook and Caz Smith won the Amateur High School Bass Anglers Tournament on Saturday at Lake Guntersville, Alabama. The champions had a winning weight of 18 1/2 pounds.

Cartersville High juniors Chandler Shook and Caz Smith won the Amateur High School Bass Anglers Tournament on Saturday at Lake Guntersville, Alabama. The champions had a winning weight of 18 1/2 pounds.

Peyton Ray, of Cartersville, and Gabriel Franklin, of Cass, teamed up for second place in the tourney, which was AHSBA’s final one of the 2018-19 season. Calhoun’s Dean Rice and Colton Cleveland finished third.

In the junior division, Woodland Middle’s Caiden Moore and Cass Middle’s Tucker Ivester came in first. The largest catch of the day went to Tyler Smith (Cass) and Gavin Aikens (Sonoraville) with a 5.32-pound large-mouth bass.
