TRAVEL ROSTER FOR SECTIONAL TOURNAMENT @ PERRY HS

We qualified 13 of 14 wrestlers for the Sectional Tournament this upcoming weekend, which breaks our previous school record of 10 set just last season!!!  We only had 1 wrestler not qualify for Sectionals: 138 lbs. Camden Geer, who wrestled very tough in an extremely tough weight class which featured 4 returning GHSA State Qualifiers.  At the Sectional Tournament, the Boys must finish in the top 8 in order to qualify for the GHSA AAAA State Traditional Championships in Macon next week.

We are sending 6 Girls to the Girls Sectional/State Qualifier Tournament @ Perry HS with our Varsity boys team.  At the Sectional Tournament, the GIRLS must finish in the top 2 in order to qualify for the GHSA GIRLS State Traditional Championships in Macon next week.

Travel Rules for Trip

Each Wrestler will be allowed to bring 1 “carry-on” sized bag and 1 backpack (preferably the team-gear backpack).  Please do not bring a lot of things that are unnecessary to compete in a wrestling tournament.  This is a wrestling team trip, not a vacation.  Any items Coach Gayton does not approve must be left in Cartersville.

Wrestlers will be required to wear their team gear while we are at the Sectional Tournament @ Perry HS and representing Cartersville High School.  We will wash all clothes at the end of each day at no expense to the wrestlers.  Wrestlers will not be allowed on the wrestling floor if they are not wearing team gear.

Wrestlers will not be allowed to leave wherever the team is for any reason.  We will travel everywhere we go together as a team.

We will provide Lunch/Snacks at the Sectional Tournament for BOTH days, but it will only be light foods/snacks.  If you would like more, please bring money to use at Concession Stands.  If parents would like to donate pop-tarts, granola/cereal bars, un-crustable sandwiches, peanut butter/jelly and bread, fruit (halos or bananas), or cases of water or gatorade, please send those items with your wrestler on Thursday or you can drop them off after practice before we leave.  Thank you so much for your help and support!!!

The CHS Student Handbook and Canes Code Behavior expectations are expected to be followed as this is a school trip.  Any rules broken in the handbook, will be turned in as office referrals upon returning to CHS and will be dealt with by administration.  Severe Violoations of the CHS Student Handbook and Canes Code Behavior may result in immediate parent contact and request for parents to come pick up their student as well as office referral upon returning to CHS.

I hope that this covers everything, though I am sure to have left something out.  If you have any questions, please email, text, or call Coach Gayton and he will return your communication as soon as possible.  Thank you!
